Knowing the Landscape, Reducing Risk
GaiaTech offers a comprehensive range of cost-efficient regulatory compliance related services, including regulatory permitting, compliance planning, and designing and implementing environmental management systems (EMS). We provide ISO 14001 consulting, along with compliance audits, reviews, and ongoing compliance management.
Our professional engineers and scientists are trained in air, water, and solid waste regulatory requirements, hazardous materials management, compliance, and site remediation technologies. We have deep familiarity with federal, state and local regulatory agencies, including extensive interaction with US EPA. We offer integrated air emissions evaluations and air quality permitting, along with spill prevention control and counter-measure (SPCC) plans; groundwater re-injection permitting and storm water permitting; construction, installation and operation permitting; NPDES permits; pre-treatment permitting, and professional engineering review and certification.
GaiaTech's approach to permitting includes a comprehensive assessment of the industrial application or process being performed. We seek to understand upfront to what extent the specific application, operating procedures, or materials used require permitting - if at all - and recommend changes wherever possible to lessen permitting requirements.
Should a permit be required or need to be updated, we design the requirements as widely as possible, helping ensure that a client's operating facilities have sufficient flexibility for future operating use and/or related applications. To reduce paperwork and complexity in managing compliance, we use existing records wherever possible and clearly document our work.
Outsourced Compliance Options
For clients with a range of operating applications but without the need or budget for a full-time compliance manager, GaiaTech performs outsourced permitting, regulatory compliance calendars, and environmental management programs to allow for cost-effective management of ongoing compliance. A further benefit of this outsourced service is GaiaTech's ability to provide the right resource - from wastewater treatment to air quality management, from hydrogeology and underground storage to chemistry or hazardous materials management - for the specific need.
This results in better management of permitting requirements, with the right expertise at the right time, typically at a cost that is more acceptable to management than hiring full-time personnel with that full range of experience.
